Review: Rachel Caine is one awesome author. Why? Because she has managed to write a series that keeps on growing and each book is incredible. She manages to write about suspense, romance, and action in one small book and it never gets boring.

Lord of Misrule is by far my favorite one yet. What I liked the most about Lord of Misrule is all the danger that was involved in it. The Glass House gang are separated and are thrown in their own dangerous missions. Bishop and his vampires lurked around ever corner and I felt scared for Claire and her friends.

I did feel like there was some things that were left out. There was entire thing with Miranda, Eve's sometime friend, that just was never solved.

Once again, Caine leaves you with a cliff-hanger and I can't wait to see what is in store for Claire and her friends.

Review: What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know is a fun and cute read. It's hilarious and at times incredibly sad. What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know is a roller coaster of emotions and captures a perfect picture of growing up.

I liked Robin's point of view and voice. Robin has been the outcast of his school and his life is finally starting to look up, when he starts dating Sophie Stein. Sophie who is artistic and has two best friends, who never been an outcast before, finally starts to understand what Robin has gone through everyday at school.

I recommend What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know to anyone that has read the first book, What My Mother Doesn't Know. It was a cute addition and I found it fun to hear Robin's voice.

Review: I'm on the fence with this book. There was action and romance. It also also was the first angel book I was able to get through. But there was some things that I just didn't like.

What I liked about Halflings was how the action started right away. We meet Nikki running for her life from Hell Hounds. We soon meet the three sexy Lost Boys, Mace, Raven, and Vine, who save her from her death. I also liked Mace as a character. He smart and brave, and just wants to fit in somewhere.

What I didn't like was how all the information about lost boys and angels were just thrown at you. There was alot of information to take in. Also, the way Will, the Lost Boys' mentor, spoke. It was very elegant and very religious at time, and went over my head.

Overall, I enjoyed Halflings and I'm excited about what Nikki and the Lost Boys will do next.

1. The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling- This doesn't need explanation, but I'll write one anyway. The magic, the adventure, and the friendships that are in these books are unexplainable. Everyone should read these books.

2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins- Anyone who likes hot guys and WTF moments, will love this book. I recommend this one to everyone.

3. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins- To anyone that loves moments that make you smile like an idiot. Everyone that I recommended this book to has loved it.

4. If I Stay by Gayle Forman- This one is a heartbreaker and anyone who is in need of a good love story should read this.

5. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare- Everyone should read this series. Everyone.

6. The Morganville Vampires Series by Rachel Caine- Anyone who is tired of the cliche vampire novels should defiantly read The Morganville Vampires. Its filled with action and a kick ass heroine.

7. Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder- For anyone who hasn't tried a verse novel. Lisa is able to portray so much emotion in little verses.

8. Divergent by Veronica Roth- For people who don't think dystopians are their thing. This book is incredible and is defiantly one of the best books I have ever read.

9. Looking for Alaska by John Green- This is honestly one of my favorite books. It will make you laugh and cry, and I think everyone should read it.

10. The Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louise Rennison- For anyone who is in for a good laugh.

Review: I'll be honest, I thought The Iron King was going to be incredible. I heard great things about this series from everyone, but I unfortunately was disappointed.

The first two thirds of the book was very slow and fell flat. I felt that the story wasn't being told. There was always a new character being introduced or a new creature being explained. And because of this the story just didn't flow and I found myself being easily distracted by something else around me.

Meghan also bored me. She was whiny and complained throughout the book. However, I did liked her loyalty to her friends and her willingness to do anything for her brother, Ethan. By the ending of the book I was willing to look past her complaints and see that she could be strong and interesting.

The ending kept me from dropping the series. It had action and adventure and unlike the beginning of the book it flowed well. I'm also interested in seeing what happen to Meghan next.

Overall, I liked this book, but I didn't find it incredible. I do want to see where Meghan goes in the future.

Student Claire Danvers has never been convinced, though —especially with the arrival of Mr. Bishop, an ancient, old-school vampire who cares nothing about harmony. What he wants from the town’'s living and its dead is unthinkably sinister. It’'s only at a formal ball, attended by vampires and their human dates, that Claire realizes the elaborately evil trap he'’s set for Morganville.

Review: I love this series. The first three books were fast paced, filled with action and romance, and are filled with creepy vampire, and frustrating (in a good way) cliff-hangers. Feast of Fools defiantly lived up to the first three novels.

Feast of Fools brings in new villains, that were scarier, tougher, and more powerful. Mr. Bishop who is the leader of the new vampires complicates the thin line between vampires and humans, and disrupts the balance of power. He wasn't seen much in the novel, but I think that what made him so creepy and scary.

There is also a lot of romance tension between Shane and Claire, which I enjoyed seeing. Although I love the two together, I did think that they stepped into their relationship a bit too fast and fell in love with each other at first sight. It made their relationship seem more real.

Oh and that ending! Rachel Caine knows how to write an awesome cliff-hangers. I would recommend this series for anyone who is interested in vampires and are looking for quick and thrilling reads.

2. Michelle Hodkins- So I know she is working on the second book in The Mara Dyer series, but really I need the next book. Now.

3. Gayle Forman- I have heard that she is writing a new book, but I loved If I Stay and Where She Went. She writes incredible love stories and I can't wait to see what she love story she writes next.

4. Stephanie Perkins- She had a tough time writing Lola and the Boy Next Door, so I understand her decision to hold off on Isla and the Happily Ever After, but I really can't wait to read Isla's story.

5. Lisa Schroader- I love the way Lisa writes. It's beautiful and it makes me cry every time.

6. Jenny Downham- I love her debut novel Before I Die and I just got her second novel You Against Me. I'm sure I will love it and be begging for more.

7. Cassandra Clare- I love the Mortal Instruments Series, I'm very excited to read more.

8. Ransom Riggs- His debut novel Miss.Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, was creepy and scary, and I want more.

Review: As The Morganville Vampires series progress each book gets better, which I love! Midnight Alley did not disappoint.

Rachel Caine introduced two new characters in Midnight Alley. Jason, Eve's druggie brother, was different from all the other humans in Morganville, which gave him a twist in the story. He seemed to want to be like the vampires but also wanted to destroy them as well. Myrin, an insane vampire, was also introduced. Myrin becomes Claire's boss as they try to find a cure for the vampires. I liked Myrin, he showed a different side to the vampires, and he was interesting because of his drastic mood swings.

Michael's character developed in Midnight Alley. After, becoming a vampire in The Dead Girls' Dance, he as starts to adjust to his new situation. Michael being a vampire also causes problems with Shane. Shane who hates vampires is hesitant to trust Michael. I liked this part in the book. It showed a different side of both Michael and Shane, which I enjoyed seeing.

Overall, Midnight Alley was a quick read and exciting addition to the series.

Review: I haven't heard much about The Agency series but I love a mysteries especially when there historical fiction, so I thought I give it try. I'm glad I did. I immediately got suck into Victorian London and Mary's world, and I loved every minute of it.

Mary is a strong protagonist. She strong and sticks to her beliefs and isn't afraid of anyone. But she also is not afraid to ask for help and looks to her mentors Anne and Felicity. I also loved how her family history is mixed into the story. It added another mystery to the story and I can't wait to see where Mary came from.

James was another interesting character, but I did have mixed feelings for him. He could be likable and sweet, but also mean and grouchy. He could be confusing at times and I felt that I really didn't see the real him. But I hope to see him in the next installment.

I also loved the mystery. There was twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat. The ending was shocking and I can't wait to see where Mary's adventures take her next.

6. Mara Dyer number 2 by Michelle Hodkins- That ending! Oh, I need to know what happens. Oh an Noah. I need more Noah

7. The Fine Art of Truth and Dare by Melissa Jenson- This sounds adorable! Pretty and Pink meets Anna and the French Kiss. Yes, Please.

8. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins- I loved Anna and I loved Lola. I also heard that this one takes place in France. Needless to say, I am super excited.

9. The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges- I love historical fiction, especially takes place in another country. This one sounds awesome.

10. Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne- Strange visions and nightmares? Boarding school? Sounds like my kind of read.

Then Clare's brother - who has supernatural gifts of his own - becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

Review: I love murder mysteries and I always wish there was more of this genre in Y.A. books. So you could imagine my excitement when I heard about Clarity. Not only is a murder mystery, but it also has a supernatural undertone. Needless to say, I really enjoyed Clarity.

Kim Harrington wrote a great mystery. You can tell that she really thought out the entire novel. It kept me guessing until the very end, and I never excepted the killer.

Clare was a great protagonist. I loved her loyalty to her brother, Perry. She would do anything for him, including having to deal with her ex-boyfriend and even danger. She felt very real, and even with her supernatural gift, she was a normal teenage girl. She has normal teenage problems and just wants to be liked for who she is.

I did however thought the romance was a little weak. I didn't feel a connection with Josh or Gabriel. But I'm curious about which boy she will choose. Personally, I'm team Josh.

I will eagerly be waiting for the next installment Perception to see where Clare's supernatural power takes her next.

Looking Back at 2011

Wow! Does anyone else think its crazy that 2011 is coming to a close and 2012 is right around the corner? Insane. This has been one hell of a year for me. This year was an emotional rollercoster. I cried, laughed, smiled, screamed, and every other emotion I can possibly think of. 2011 was my toughest year yet and I'm determined to learn from my mistakes in 2012.

2011 is also the year I learned about book blogging and all things bookish. I have always been a reader but I never knew about things like Goodreads (crazy I know), Y.A. book blogs (I can't imagine my life without them), and many of the incredible reads I have read this past year.

After, months of reading blog after blog, I decided to create my own blog. This blog, L'amour Books. And although I've only been blogging for a little over four months, it has been the best experience. I have loved every minute so far of my blogging experience and I hope that in 2012 it only grows.

Thank you to everyone that has followed L'amour Books and commented. I appreciate and love each and everyone of you, and it is my hope to get know more about my followers in 2012. Thank you to my friends and family who have supported my love of books and have been excited about L'amour Books just as much as I am.

Also, thank you 2011. I know that sounds crazy thanking a year, but really thank you 2011. It has been the toughest year of my life, and when I felt I would never find a way out, I found my way out, and I'm working on my self-estem and self-image. So thank you 2011, where I thought I would be cursing you out, I'm thanking you for making me a stronger person and changing my life for the better.

Review: Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift's Love Story music video, and I could totally see the connection. It was beautiful and at time heartbreaking story about true love. I really enjoyed this book.

I loved the concept of Remembrance. I haven't read anything about reincarnation and loved my first experience with it. It is an interesting concept and I hope to see more it in Y.A. books.

I could connect with Lizzie. She was your average high school American girl with normal teenage girl problems. I also loved how she is loyal to her best friend Chelsea and her boyfriend Jeremy. She knows that she is destined be with Drew, but won't make a move because he dating Chelsea and she is still with Jeremy.

I did think that Chelsea was annoying. I felt that she was selfish and didn't see other people's feelings. I understand that she was hurt but there was no reason that she had to take it out on others. I also think that there is wasn't a huge climax and I was disappointed by that.

Remembrance was a remarkable debut and I'm very excited to see what happens to Drew and Lizzie in the next installment.

Autobook Review: The Dead Girls' Dance

Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

Review: The second installment of The Morganville Vampire Series does not disappoint. Actually, I enjoyed The Dead Girls' Dance more than Glass Houses. There were new characters, turns of new twists, and the mystery of Morganville deepens.

Shane's father, Frank, shows up to Morganville wanting to destroy all the vampires of Morganville, and he wants Shane's help. It killed me reading about Shane and Frank's relationship. It was complicated and twisted and it made me ache for Shane. Shane is afraid to defy his father, but knows that it's the thing that has to be done.

We also learn more about each of the character's past, especially Shane. It makes his character more developed and gives him a more relatable feeling. Eve's past also comes to light, but isn't told as much as Shane's, and I hope I see more of it in the next installment.

Claire and Michael also become more kickass. They're willing to risk everything for the protection with for their friends. No matter the consequence.

I can't wait to see what awaits Claire and her friends in the third book Midnight Alley.

Review: The Start-Up is a quick and entertaining read. It's only 90 pages, but in those 90 pages, there was alot of characters and plot-lines introduced.

The Start-Up was told in multiple point of views, so there was many characters that had a part in the story. My favorite character was Amelia. She is smart and genuine person, that does what right and even when she could chose the easy path. She stands up for her beliefs and willing to live with the consequences.

However, I did find myself confused at times, but only because I don't know much about computers, which was a huge part of the story. There was techie lingo that I just didn't understand.

The ending leaves you with a cliff-hanger and I literally slammed my Kindle down wanting to know who was on the other end of the phone. Needless to say I can't wait to see what happens next in the next installment, The Anti-Social Network.

Review: This was by far my favorite installment of The Mortal Instruments series. It was just brimming with action, love, and plenty of Jace. All the heartbreaks were mended and new friendships were formed. I loved every second of City of Glass.

I got to see the softer side of Jace in City of Glass. He was still sarcastic and had plenty of his jerk-like moments, but I got to see the loving part of him, and I loved that side of him. I also got to see a different side of Isabelle and Alec. Isabelle's real feeling came out and Alec begins to accept himself. Simon also matures and loses his goof-ball attitude and has a big role in the story.

Clary and Jace's relationship is complicated throughout the entire book. At times, I was yelling at them inside my head of how stupid they acted around each other. But they are still protective and loyal to each, no matter how much they seem to hate each other at time.

City of Glass is taken place in Alicante, the ancestral home for shadowhunter, instead of New York City. I loved Alicante. With it's green valleys and cobbled stone roads, I wanted to live there. It sounded beautiful and like European cities.

There are plenty of shocking twists and a satisfying ending, and I can't wait to read City of Fallen Angels.

Review: Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging had me laughing! It was a light and quick read that cheered me up after a stressful Biology class. It did take a few journal entries to get into the book, since I was checking the glossary in the back of the book for the definitions of British words. But overall I really like this book.

Georgia is hilarious. She has a sense of humor that I love and that I wish I see more of in book and real life. She also a very believable character and many teenage girls will be able to relate to Georgia and her many adventures.

Georgia and Jas have a real friendship. It's filled with ups and downs, and small acts of betrayals, but they always are able to fix their broken friendship.

However, I did wish that there was more of her crush Robbie, who she calls the Sex God. He wasn't a huge part of the story and I hope I see more of him in the second novel.

I will can't wait to see where Georgia goes next in the next installment On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God.

Review: I don't know what took me so long to read Glass Houses. It might of been all the vampire hype or the terrible covers but I was never drawn to read The Morganville Vampires. But after seeing Jen at The Makeshift Bookmark's ABC's post about the The Morganville Vampires series, I thought I give it a try. I'm glad I did.

First of all, I listened to Glass Houses on autobook and the narrator did a great job. She wasn't boring in her narration, which I'm always afraid about when I start an autobook.

Claire is a great protagonist. She is smart, loyal, and kickass and I love that in a protagonist. Claire's roommates are also awesome. Eve, Shane, and Michael are loyal and protective over each other, and I loved seeing a friendship like that. They also made me laugh and can be pretty mysterious.

I also enjoyed Rachel Caine's writing. She writes with a great sense of humor and how many teenagers and college students talk. It made what is a very unrealistic story easy to relate too. She also wrote one of the best cliff-hangers I have ever read.

I can't wait to see where Claire and her friends go next and I will totally start the next book very soon.

Review: I wasn't sure what to except of The Shadow. At a mere forty-seven pages, I thought the ending would come to quickly and everything would be rushed. At some parts I do think it was rushed, but I found that The Shadow was a fun and entertaining read.

Will is my favorite character and I wish I learned more about him. I also enjoyed Abby. She is sassy and likable, and even though she trapped in someone else's body she seemed believable.

However, there did seem to be a few mistakes. There was a part where the chapter said it was Friday but in the dialogue they said it was Wednesday. Also, someone called Abby, Abby, when she was trapped in Brooke's body.

Overall, I enjoyed The Shadow, and I'm hoping in the next installment we will be able to learn about being a shadow and who Abby really is.

Review: This was my first Sonya Sones book that I have ever read and I enjoyed. Sonya writing is beautiful and simple and I felt like it was an actual fourteen year old girl writing her story.

Sophie is a believable character. She has problems at homes, two best friends, and plenty of mishaps with boys, and many teenage girls will be able to relate themselves to Sophie. However, I did think that Sophie seemed a bit grown up for her age, she seemed to be trying to find the boy that she was going to be with forever, which seemed to be a problem for someone who is older than fourteen.

As much, as I liked Sophie and Sonya's writing, somethings just didn't gel. I didn't understand how Sophie being Jewish had anything to do with the story and I would like to have learned more about her parents.

Overall, I enjoyed What My Mother Doesn't Know and will be reading the sequel What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know.

Top Ten Tuesday: Childhood Favorites

1. Anything by Dr. Suess- I don't I have ever met anyone who didn't love Dr. Suess growing up. He was my first real introduction into reading and if I could thank him for that I would.

2. The Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osbourne- I can remember reading these books in kindergarten. My class would gather around in a circle after lunch time and our teacher would read a chapter. I would be so excited to see what would happen to Jack and Annie.

3. Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park- This was my first series that I read on my own and because of that they will always have a special place in my heart.

4. If you Give a Mouse a Cookie and If you Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Joffe Numeroff- Who haven't read these books? There adorable and hilarious and these two were my favorites ones.

5. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle- In first grade all the classrooms were assigned a Eric Carle book. My class, was The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

6. Anything by Roald Dahl- Roald Dahl was my first experience with magic and for that I can't thank him enough.

Review: Stephanie Perkins has done it again. She has written a fantastic story which had me gushing and giggling like a five year old. I don't think anyone can top Stephanie Perkins when it comes to Y.A. contemporary romance.

First of all, I loved how Anna and St.Clair were intertwined into Lola's story. All though they had small parts in the novel, when they did appear they had the same wit and charm, as they did in their own story.

You can't talk about Lola and the Boy Next door without taking about Cricket. Before even starting Lola, I felt bad for Cricket. After reading about St. Clair, Cricket, had a lot to live up too. But he definitely made his mark. He was different from St. Clair, but was still swoon-worthy. He was geeky, tall, and lovable, and I would love if Cricket could be my boyfriend.

Lola was great. She's unique, quirky, and unforgettable. But what is really memorable about Lola is how she's not afraid to be herself. She's not afraid to wear different colored wigs and tutus and her courage to be able to do that is what is so great about her. Lola was also a very believable character. She is at time confused, upset, angry, happy, and feels alone and every teenager goes through that and even with her rainbow colored wigs I think everyone will be able to connect with Lola in a way.

Review: I really wanted to like this book. I love fairy tales and I love with there modernized, so I was super excited when I found Sisters Red at the library. But I was disappointed.

Let me say that Jackson Pearce writes beautifully and she had a great idea. I also liked the twists with Silas, Rosie and Scarlett’s friend. But something didn’t click for me.

Sisters Red did keep me interested enough for me to finish it, but the ending left me sad and was disappointed, and not excited for Jackson's second installment.

Review: This wasn’t my favorite Sarah Dessen book, but I did enjoy it. Keeping the Moon was a quick and cute read, and I’m glad I picked it up.

What I love about Sarah Dessen is how she is able to make her characters relatable, and I found myself really connecting with Colie. Colie is shy and has low self-esteem and I saw myself with in her and her story.

Morgan and Isabel were quite hilarious and I loved their friendship. They are honest with each other and love each other, and I wished I could have them as my best friends.

I did wish Colie’s aunt, Mira, played a bigger role in the story. I understood why she was there and where she fit into the book, but I wish we saw more of her.

I recommend Keeping the Moon to anyone who enjoys Sarah Dessen’s books.

Review: I love City of Bones, the first book in the Mortal Instruments series, so I was very excited to read the squeal City of Ashes. However, there was a small part of me that wouldn’t love it as much as City of Bones, and honestly I didn’t love City of Ashes as much as City of Bones. Overall though, I did really like City of Ashes, and my love for this series is still very strong.

It took a few chapters to get into City of Ashes, but once I got into I fell in love with City of Ashes like I did with City of Bones. It was fast-paced, filled with action, and Jace’s humor.

I loved how Simon had a bigger part in this book. In City of Bones, I felt that he was just a background character, but we really get to know Simon in City of Ashes. There’s a huge twist with him that made him a huge part of the story, and we see his true feelings and his true self come alive. I also liked Maia, a new character, who is a werewolf. I enjoyed her part in the story and I hope to see more of her in the next book.

After reading about Jace and Clary’s relationship in the first novel, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with them in this story. Cassandra Clare has written such a complicated love story between the Jace and Clary. Where I feel like I should be turned off by their feelings, I can't help but want them to be together. It kills me to see the two of them struggle with their feelings for each other, but thats what keeps their story interesting.

If you have read City of Bones, you remember that cliff-hanger, that for me left me wanting City of Ashes right away. Yeah, well there is yet another cliff-hanger, and I need City of Glass now.

Review: I’m not a huge science fiction fan, but after hearing good things about the book and wanting to expand my horizons, I decided to pick it up. I’m glad that I did.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox didn’t blow me away, but it did keep my interest. I wanted to know what had happened to Jenna and why she survived an accident that she shouldn’t have survived. I also liked how real and believable Jenna is, as well as her grandmother, Lily.

I did find that some characters were unnecessary, like Dane, Jenna’s classmate and neighbor.Where I thought he would play some part in Jenna's story he really wasn't around. Jenna's other classmate Gabriel was also notably missing from the story. I also missed the romance. I love when two people fall in love, and I missed seeing Jenna and Ethan falling in love.

Overall, I liked this book and I’m interested to see what happens in the next book, The Fox Inheritance.

Review: Wow. What did I just read? Whatever it was it was incredible and amazing, and I wished Noah could be my boyfriend. Needless, to say I was blown away and I loved it.

I loved the story line of this book. It was original, engrossing, mysterious, and every time I thought I had figured it all out I was thrown for a loop. The characters were also awesome. I love when characters in stories have me laughing and there were time when I was trying not to laugh out loud. I know that I mention this in the beginning of the review. Noah Shaw. Oh. My. God. Can he be real?

The ending. That cliffhanger. I need the second book right now.

I bought Shine when I heard about what happened with Lauren Myracle and NBA (if you want to learn about more about this, I personally think that Libba Bray explained it pretty well.Warning: There is mature language in Libba's post.) I wanted to support Shine and Lauren Myracle and I also just wanted to read the book, since I heard great things about. I was not disappointed at all, and Shine was one of the best books that I read this year.

The characters were real. The setting was real. The plot was real. Everything about Shine was real, which is what I loved about it. It was filled with homophobia, meth addiction, and sexual assault, which happens everyday and is difficult to prevent. Shine did a great job about how drugs can mess up your life, how sexual assault can ruin someone outlook, and how homophobia can possibly end a life.

I also loved how Shine was filled with mystery. Cat, the narrator of the story, sets out find out what happened to her friend, Patrick, who was beaten to near death. The mystery of the story made it easier to read Shine, since it was filled with many issues.

Shine was powerful book with a powerful message. I recommend Shine to anyone who is interested in issues book.

Review: I haven’t read a lot of books about fairies and I haven’t heard a lot about Jenna Black so I didn’t know what to except. Regardless of that I found myself enjoying Glimmerglass.

I really loved the storyline and plot of the story. It was nothing I ever read before. I also liked how Avalon and the fairies didn’t hide from the human world. Avalon was actually a tourist destination. Dana was also a great protagonist. She was funny and independent and spoke her mind.

I did find myself board at times. There were parts in the story that didn’t make any sense and I felt at times there were things that were not explained. Their were characters, that were unnecessary and I wished their was more Ethan in the novel.

The ending did leave me wanting more, so I will be picking up the second book Shadowspell.

Review: I’ve been meaning to read Hex Hall for a while now, and being that its Halloween time I figured this was the perfect time to read about witches and warlocks. I’m very glad that I did. It took a few chapters but I found myself loving Hex Hall. Hex Hall was a quick and entertaining read filled with everything I love. Magic, romance, humor and a few twists and turns.

I thought Sophie was great. She was witty and relatable, and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself. I also loved how Jenna, Sophie’s roommate and best friend, was gay vampire who loved the color pink. I loved that. I thought that made Jenna stand out from the typical vampires I read about.

The ending. Wow! That ending was great. There were a few twists that I never saw coming and then one big cliffhanger that left me wanting the next book. I cannot wait to get my hands on Demonglass.

Review: I enjoyed Glimpse. It was a quick read, since it was written in verse, but still was able to portray a dark message. It was filled with secrets and lies and a tad bit of mystery. But I did find it a bit predictable and the ending didn’t leave me shocked and surprised.

What I did love about Glimpse was the relationship between Hope and Lizzie. I loved reading about how much they loved each other and how far they would go to protect each other. I also, love the way Williams writes. She is a talented writer and I will be checking out her other novels.

I would recommend Glimpse for anyone that enjoys issues book and books that are written in verse.

Review: Creepy. If you asked me to explain this book in one word I would say creepy. I had nightmares creepy. I was afraid of the dark creepy. I loved this creepy. Miss. Peregrine’s was filled with twists, turns, magic, orphans, and some pretty cool photographs. Needless to say, I really enjoyed this book.

Jacob, the protagonist, sets out on a journey to a small island to go to the house that Jacob’s grandfather lived as a child. Jacob finds the abandoned house that his grandfather lived his destroyed by WWII, but is unwilling to give up his search finds, some peculiar children that happened to know his grandfather.

I loved how Riggs incorporated the photographs he found into the novel. They set Miss. Peregrine’s apart from other books that I have read. The ending abruptly ended and I can’t wait to read more of Jacob’s and the children’s journey. I will impatiently be waiting for its release in 2013.

I also think the book trailer is well done and equally creepy.
